The Games Eden project exists to support the digital games entertainment community in the East of England and to establish a lasting network to inform and discuss the latest developments and opportunities in the industry. It is a platform for like-minded companies to exchange ideas and experiences.

This event was designed for those active in the wider gaming industry that want to discuss current hot topics. We lined up an impressive list of speakers from the industry to debate the issues.
Mike Dicks is Head of Interactive at the cross-platform production company Somethin’ Else. As well as being the largest independent radio producer in the UK and a top ten producer of TV entertainment, they also make award-winning interactive entertainment (including web media, games and mobile content), and syndicate radio to over 65 countries. Clients include broadcasters, brands, agencies, telecommunications companies and publishers in both private and public sectors. Mike has been involved in a wide range of multiplatform projects, including a Web-to-TV-to-Game project called Fightbox, an interactive soap opera called Wannabes and a peer to peer racing system for Scalextric. Prior to Somethin Else, Mike was Head of Development at Illumina Digital.
Chris Deering was Head of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. He was the man behind the very successful PlayStation and PlayStation 2 in Europe and, through his Chairmanship of the Edinburgh Interactive Festival, he is a major voice the European games industry. A graduate of the Harvard Business School, Chris worked at Gillette and McKinsey before becoming VP at games software maker Atari. In 1985 became a senior VP at Columbia Pictures. He was also an Executive VP of Sony Pictures.
