Westminster eForum Keynote Seminar: The UK Computer and Video Games Industry

This seminar will look at the challenges faced by the UK games industry, the impact of increasingly fierce foreign competition, and the emerging business models and innovations set to drive growth in the future. What are the public policy options available to promote UK game development?

Planned sessions will examine:

  • Gaming in the UK - a continued success?, including analysis of the market going forward;
  • The role of incentives - how would the proposed tax-based incentive scheme work in practice and what constitutes culturally British; and
  • A video games revolution? - the opportunities created by new technologies, methods of payment and distribution - and the regulatory challenges they create.
