Universally Speaking is one of the leading providers of specialist games services to the global games sector.

Their enviable client list includes the industry’s largest publishers and they have localised thousands of games across all platforms and genres.

They specialised in over 16 languages and their QA department is equipped with hardware for Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, Mobile and PC Platform.

Overview:
The position will involve in-house translating and the use of translation tools such as Wordfast and SDLX Trados.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Translating material sent by various Project Managers implementing the principles of games localisation to produce good-quality translations that implement the various TRCs and glossaries.
  • Assisting with checking and quality assurance.
  • Maintenance of databases.
  • Assisting with quality control of materials.
  • Archiving and storage of materials.
  • Assisting in the production and use of glossaries.

Skills required:

  • Knowledge and experience in the translation environment.
  • Computer literacy, word processing, database handling, record keeping, good working knowledge of Word, Excel, PPT, PDF.
  • Basic IT skills.

Experience:

  • Ideally previous work experience with a video game localisation environment at an agency or publisher/developer.
  • Ideally the candidate will have a good knowledge of video games, in particular MMO’s and RPG genres across all hardware platforms.
