Unfortunately my current employer Chaloner Associates will be closing down at the end of September due to the MD emigrating. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Chaloner Associates and especially working within the gaming industry and I am keen to carry this on in my next career move.

I have been working for Chaloner Associates as a PR Account Manager and would be keen to look for opportunities either within this field or as a Product Manager.

I feel have a very high attention to detail, and set myself very high standards. Ideally I would like to work as part of a team where I can develop new skills and bounce ideas off of my colleagues.

Work Experience

Chaloner Associates, PR Account Manager

Chaloner Associates are a Public Relations Agency who specialise in the gaming and software industries.

My role within the company is day-to-day Account Management of our client base. Due to the in-depth planning involved in various campaigns, strong administration skills and a high attention to detail are required for press releases and for the publication of information into the public domain

My responsibilities include:

Liaising with various media outlets (TV, Radio, Web and Print) to generate as much publicity for our client’s products as possible, including:

  • Setting up competitions with various press outlets to gain product placement for our clients’ games and software.
  • Attending trade shows and assisting in the manning of trade stands in partnership with our clients both national and international.
  • Building relationships with the press to ensure they will be giving our clients as much coverage as possible.
  • Liaising with clients on various PR stunts and investigating costs and time scales for events e.g. Skydives and Street Art
  • Product demonstrations.
  • Attending networking events to generate new business and promote clients products.
  • Building PR plans for the launch of new games and software.
  • Researching and resourcing new press contacts.
  • Managing embargoes and ensuring that these are adhered to.

Administrative duties:

  • Maintained and developed the company database to refine the search feature.
  • Keeping the database up to date and adding / amending details when required.
  • Finding and collating press clippings both in printed and web based media.
  • Weekly client reporting on the previous weeks press coverage.
  • Building of review lists for clients products.
  • Working with a number of spreadsheets collating large amounts of information.
